Venetian mirror shopping madness!

Here is my greatest example of shopping madness. Did i consider this purchase sensibly for a few days to be sure? No i did not. This was bought entirely on a whim. Always prone to shopping as therapy, this was my personal response to a particularly bad day. This item personifies my shopping at its most defiant. 'Screw you world - I'm going to buy stuff'. Also at this time my shoe collection improved magnificently. I can't say i have buyers remorse.

But where can I even hang the thing? Its huge. If anyone could tell me where the hell i should put it, I would be much obliged. The removal guy described it as 'a massive, incredibly delicate glass snowflake', I can admit that this purchase was not sensible, on any level. Still.... Its pretty bloody good, right?

  2. This is just GORGEOUS!

That showroom is amazing. I want this. I'd keep all of my paper work in it and pay bills with drippy fountain pens.

  4. Oh wow! That's one hell of a fancy mirror. It's the kind of thing that would look cool if you put it in an unexpected place in the house. I like the description 'a massive, incredibly delicate glass snowflake' haha, spot on. Great purchase!

  5. Oh sorry, the ones I liked was page 39/157. The rickety looking writing desk. Xx

    1. Oh yes - that's lovely! You should definitely get that. Then you'll have to eschew all methods of online contact and revert to writing letters. It will be terribly romantic..

  6. Oh my, that mirror is beautiful, even more so because it's so huge! It is one of those things that you could never 'need' but you would've regretted it for ever if you hadn't bought it.

I would play with its size and put it somewhere most people would class as 'too small' to really emphasize it. Perhaps use it as a bathroom mirror (although you wouldn't want to damage it with steam).

Every house needs an 'incredibly delicate glass snowflake' and if you can't find a space for it I am happy to look after it for you ;) xx

    1. Hi Kelly!

I'm so glad you like it -and I think you're absolutely right - I've wanted one for ever and so would have deeply regretted not getting it.
I also really like the idea of having it in the bathroom, as it means I could pair it with some more industrial textures. I've been wondering about the steam and how much of an issue that would be? You often see them in bathrooms -so fingers crossed it will be fine - that's what I'm going to tell myself anyway! And my place is tiny -so wherever I place it will, by happy coincidence, emphasize the scale of the thing! I just hope I actually have a wall in the bathroom with enough space to hang it on!

Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback - and its ever so kind of you to offer to look after it for me! ;-)

      xx
